Facts about us
Educated at Leiden University, Netherlands, Hans obtained a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Geology, with as principal themes Sedimentology, Geophysics and Hydrogeology.
In the sixties, the academic curriculum still was a broad one, covering all geological fields and studying still offered the opportunity for extra-curricular activities. Some time has been invested in the boards of student organizations (LGV - Leiden Geologist’s Association, NGMSO – Netherlands Geology and Mining Student Association, Leiden Mathematics and Physics Student Council).
Field work occupied several months in each summer. Two M.Sc. theses were prepared in the Cantabrian Mountains, Northern Spain, one with a sedimentological focus (Upper Cambrian Herreria sandstone Formation), the second geophysical (Gravimetry of the Southern Cantabrian Boundary Fault).
The professional activities started with five years work for UNDP in Groundwater Resources Projects in Latin America, followed by five years with World Bank in an integrated agricultural development project in East Africa.
Since 1982 Hans has worked for various German consultant companies.
Information on the latest activities of the company is shown in “Projects”.
